Lexi’s last day of school before the summer break was
Thursday. As you can imagine I was VERY
sad about it being her last day. For the
obvious reason of summer is kind of terrifying.
But more importantly I LOVE her class, teacher, and aides. I am happy to report that she has the same
teacher next year. But I don’t know who
her aides will be – hope they are all back next year although that is probably
unlikely. I’m also happy that her favorite
little friend in the class will also be in the class with her. Yay!
I really cannot thank her teachers and aides enough. The progress she has made this year has been
remarkable. Here is a list of some of
the things she can do now she couldn’t do when she started school: sit in a
chair; follow directions; ask for what she wants in a variety of ways; engage
with a group; engage with peers; pay attention for any length of time; any eye
contact; and a myriad of other remarkable things. She is a completely different child then she
was when she started school in September.
But even more than just her progress I want to thank her teacher and
aides because they actually all really love her. They love all the kids in their class. That is why they have done such remarkable
things for Lexi and the other kids in the class - because they care. Caring teachers and aides really do make all
the difference for children like mine and parents like me.
